It is often dogs or cats that spring to mind when animals in Halloween costumes are mentioned. The costume can include other accessories such as a headgear, something to tie on the animal's ears or its tail, a pair of plastic sunglasses, a nice scarf to wrap around the neck and other props to complete the transformation. Whatever you decide to create, it is worth noting that apart from the aesthetic value of these Halloween costumes, it is equally important not to forget about the comfort and safety factor for the animal. Some animals are very inquisitive such as a pet monkey. You want to make sure whatever the costume is made of that it will not harm the animal in any way. Loose bits should be stringed together and stowed away and please take care in only choosing materials that are animal-friendly, for example components that are not toxic when ingested or deadly to the animal.
Some pet shops stock accessories that are animal friendly as well as being edible, so if the animal ends up chewing on these items, they will not be harmed. When it comes to comfort level, the Halloween costume creation must fit the animal snugly, it must not obstruct their natural movements and vision. A good set of costumes should cause the animal no alarm, discomfort and distress. This way both the animal owner and the animal itself can enjoy the entire creation process and experience.
